DeForrest Brown, Jr. is an Ex-American theorist, journalist, and curator. He produces digital audio and extended media as Speaker Music and is a representative of the Make Techno Black Again campaign. On Juneteenth of 2020, he released the album Black Nationalist Sonic Weaponry on Planet Mu. His debut book ‘Assembling a Black Counter Culture’ (Primary Information, 2021) is a general history of techno and adjacent electronic music with a focus on Black experiences in industrialized labor systems, and explores the development of on-the-ground culture in relation to a unique American art form. https://speakermusic.bandcamp.com/
